Fowey Ferry departs from Mevagissey Lighthouse Quay, approximately 400 metres from the village centre. (Follow the harbour wall keeping the water on your left)

Some parking is available on the quay.

At low water, it is necessary to negotiate a fairly long flight of steps. (The crew will be happy to assist less mobile passengers if required)

Mevagissey is one of Cornwall's most picturesque fishing villages, located on a spectacular stretch of coast and within walking distance (1 1/2m) or taxi ride (3m) of  the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

Once the centre of Cornwall's  pilchard fishery, Mevagissey continues to support several dozen small fishing boats which provide colour and bustle to the attractive harbour.

If drinking in the atmosphere on the harbour-side is not enough for you, Mevagissey offers an excellent museum, an aquarium displaying locally caught fish, a fine model railway exhibition, art galleries, shops, pubs, restaurants and, of course, fish and chips!

The coastal footpath offers some lovely walks but is fairly steep in places.

Some car parking is available on the harbourside but the streets are narrow and often very full of pedestrians!
